IARR 2024

July 2024 – At the IARR (International Association for Relationship Research) conference, our Post-Doc, Dr. Sayre Wilson, was able to give a talk on research she performed prior to her time with us at Northeastern. This research was in regards to the “Just Talking” phase of dating amongst young adults, and had also been written about in Cosmopolitan Magazine!

RISE 2024

April 2024 – Celine Plaisir, one of EDGE’s undergraduate RAs, presented a poster at this year’s RISE Expo outlining research on the relationship between part-time employment and marijuana use in adolescents. Celine worked hard on their poster throughout the semester, with the help of graduate mentor Shuai Yuan. It was a great opportunity for them to present their project and see all of the great research other Northeastern students have been working on!

March 2024 – We are conducting a study to learn more about a combined intervention to help young adults assigned male at birth reduce their alcohol use; improve their sexual health behaviors and prevent HIV infection. Study sessions are held remotely over Zoom. Click here to learn more!

To participate, you must:
-Live in the state of Florida
-Be 18 -30 years old
-Meet other eligibility requirements
-Have availability for session appointments

Now recruiting participants for BAMTECH!

January 2024 – Seeking participants for a Northeastern University research study on smartphone technologies related to alcohol use. Involves in-person or remote appointments & 2-week period using smartphone technologies. To learn more, visit us at BACalcoholstudy.org.

To participate, you must:
-Be 18-25 years old
-Drink alcohol frequently
-Meet other eligibility requirements
-Have availability for session appointments

SOURCE 2023

October 2023 – Our team attended SOURCE this Fall and spoke to many students interested in being involved with research. It was an exciting opportunity to speak with people about the important work we do here at EDGE Lab. We enjoyed the experience of meeting and speaking with a variety of students about their research interests!

Welcoming New Lab Members!

July 2023 – This summer we welcomed three new members to the EDGE Lab team. We now have two new research coordinators: Jade Martinez, who will be coordinating ANCHORS and BAMTECH, and Allie Farone, who will be coordinating the studies ALARM and Less is More. Also, we welcome new PhD student, Shuai Yuan who has a Bachelor of Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an MPH from Cornell University.

RSA 2023

June 2023 – The Edge Lab went to the Research Society on Alcoholism conference to present posters about the work performed in the EDGE Lab. It was a great opportunity to meet and speak to researchers from all over the country who share an interest in alcohol use research.

SOURCE 2022

October 2022 – Recently, the EDGE Lab attended SOURCE 2022 at the Curry Student Center. It was a wonderful night where we got to meet so many interesting students. We hope you all enjoyed meeting us as much as we enjoyed meeting you!

The EDGE Lab has relocated to Northeastern!

September 2022 – The EDGE lab operations have now moved to Robinson Hall and are a part of Northeastern’s BouvĂ© College of Health Sciences. We are very much looking forward to working in Boston and conducting our research on the Northeastern campus!
